"The Deadly Newt" is produced by Kate Doak, who is a young investigative journalist, photographer and radio documentary producer from the Inner West of Sydney and formerly the New England region of New South Wales. Kate frequently covers stories involving the Independent Commission Against Corruption, New South Wales and Australian politics, as well as LGBTI issues, sport and current affairs. Kate is also open about her status as a Trans-woman. In keeping with The Walkley Foundation and the MEAA's Code of Ethics, she prefers to keep this information on the public record, so that conflicts of interest and other such situations don't arise.
